SUSAN WINICOUR

STATEMENT

For several years I have lived Fall and Winter in Berlin, Germany.

Berlin is a wonderful city - vibrant, artistic and brimming with life.

Each visit provides a changing vision in lifestyle which always affects

my drawing. Figurative drawing has been the subject of my work.

I  am a watcher of people, mannerism and dress. This year

I discovered a remarkable institute where artists from all over Europe

congregate to experiment with printmaking (etching and lithography).

My etching resulted in a series of  "frauen im unterwasche".

The subject was inspired by the particularly overzealous use of the

unclothed female in German advertising.
