ELIEZER BARROS

STATEMENT

For this show, I photographed mainly on the South Side and in the Downtown.  The dramatic contrasts between the old and the new, the glitter of steel and glass, and the flow of rivers and avenues make this project so exciting for me.  I tried to capture the music of my adopted city through one of my favorite landmarks, the Smithfield Street Bridge, which has become for me like a musical instrument with magical strings playing a now-familiar melody called Pittsburgh.

I used a Canon EOS D60 digital camera and printed on high quality matte paper using an archival ink for Epson Stylus 2200 printer.  Image sizes are 11x14 and 8x10.
