ADRIENNE HEINRICH

STATEMENT

Adrienne Heinrich lives and works in Murrysville, PA.  She was named Artist of the Year by the Pittsburgh Center for the Arts in 2002.  Her 5 room exhibition included sculpture and installation.  She has been an artist-in-residence in many schools and universities in PA, usually creating a permanent installation with the students during a two week time period.

Her one person exhibitions have included shows in the Southern Alleghenies Museum of Art, the Westmoreland Museum of Art, and Gallery 10 in Washington DC.  Her work has been in group exhibitions in Venice, Pistoia, Prato, and Florence, Italy and in NYC.  In addition to exhibiting paintings at Chiz Gallery, she will create an installation at the new Artlington Arts Center near DC in September,  and be part of a group installation at a gallery in Prague, Czech Republic,  in June.  An exhibition at AIR Gallery is scheduled for 2006,  Her work was recently shown in the FiberArts International in NYC at the Museum of Art and Design.  That exhibition travels to Seattle next.

Site-specific installations include Domestic Issues/Abuse of Power, with Connie Merriman at Gallery 937 in Pittsburgh, Seton Hill College, and Somerset Art Center: Transcendence at the Westmoreland Museum of American Art: Persistent Voices at the PCA: PATBUS Project, poetry on 800 buses in Pittsburgh: Grandmothers, at Three Rivers Arts Festival in Pittsburgh: and Preparation for the Waking at McDonough Museum of Art in Youngstown, OH.

She has received grants from the PA Council on the Arts and the Mid Arlantic Arts Foundation, and been awarded prizes at 5 Associated Artists of Pittsburgh Annuals at the Carnegie Museum of Art.

Her work is in the permanent collections of the Carnegie Museum of Art, Southern Alleghenies Museum of Art, and the Contemporary Museum of Art in Montecatini, Italy.  Her work is also in the collections of over 60 corporate and private collections.
